Here are photos of
some of my
Seder Plates. They are approximately 14" x 15". Each
well has a ceramic "replica" of the items needed on the
Seder Plate. When using it for Pesach (rather than for
display) remove the ceramic pieces and replace them with the "real
thing."
My Seder Plates are very
Reform. You see several pieces you may not be used to.
First the orange: the story goes like this. A young woman, the
daughter of an Orthodox Rabbi, told her father that she wanted to
become a Rabbi. The father's answer: "A woman on the
bema is as appropriate as an orange on the Seder Plate." So we
Reform Jews put an orange on the Seder Plate. The small ceramic cup is Miriam's cup.
After all, it was Miriam who danced with her timbrels after passing
through the Sea of Reeds.
Commissions happily accepted.
